This impressive late 19th to early 20th century German silver table set was produced by J. D. Schleissner & Söhne of Hanau, a renowned manufacturer of high-quality decorative silver. The group comprises twelve pieces, including salt cellars and pepper casters, most marked .800 silver and bearing the maker’s mark.
Each piece is finely executed with swan-form stems, repoussé ornamentation, and pierced decoration. The salt cellars are fitted with scalloped etched glass liners, enhancing both function and visual appeal. The pepper casters feature pierced bodies with removable tops.
The set displays strong craftsmanship and consistent decorative quality throughout. Minor variations in bowl diameter are present, consistent with hand production of the period.
